Chris received his Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy from Griffith University in 2007. Since this time Chris has worked in orthopaedic and sports physiotherapy with his clinical experience reaching from recreational athletes through to elite and professional athletes. Chris has worked as a physiotherapist with several professional sporting organizations including:

  • Australian Baseball League (ABL)
  • Queensland Baseball
  • National Rugby League (NRL)
  • Queensland Cup Rugby League (QRL)
  • Water Polo Australia (AWL)

Chris’ sports physiotherapy experience has also included work with athletes in Olympic preparations for Beijing 2008, London 2012, Soci 2014, and Rio 2016. This extensive sports physiotherapy experience has refined Chris’ skills in prescribing and managing rehabilitation programs from acute injury through to late-stage performance and conditioning for virtually any presentation a physiotherapist may encounter.

After moving to the United States in 2012 Chris held a lecturing position with Sacramento State University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. In 2013 Chris commenced work with Howard Head Sports Medicine and the Steadman Clinic in Vail Colorado.

During his time in the United States, Chris has worked with athletes from some of the biggest sporting arenas in the world including:

  • United States Ski & Snowboard Teams
  • National Football League (NFL)
  • Major League Baseball (MLB)
  • National Hockey League (NHL)
  • National Basketball Association (NBA)
  • English Premier League Football (EPL)
  • Professional tennis (ATP)

At the Steadman Clinic, Chris worked alongside some of the world’s leading surgeons, including close work with pioneering hip surgeon Dr. Marc Philippon and innovating knee surgeon Dr. Robert LaPrade. During this time Chris contributed to academic research, developed advanced post-operative rehabilitation protocols, and coauthored the rehabilitation section of Dr. Philippon’s textbook. This work drove Chris’ passion for post-surgical rehabilitation and returning athletes to sports post-surgery. Chris holds a special interest in hip, knee, and shoulder injury and rehabilitation after complex orthopedic surgery.

Returning to Australia

After returning to Australia in 2017 Chris began his mission to create a clinic that paralleled the world’s leading sports and post-surgical therapy offered in the United States. In 2019 Chris and Damian co-founded Movement Rx and began their journey to bring this new level of patient care to Australia.

When Chris is not at Movement Rx he loves spending time with his wife and two young daughters. When time permits Chris enjoys tennis and cycling. But his true sporting passion is skiing/snowboarding and he looks forward to every opportunity to escape the heat and get some much-needed powder therapy.
